Minji (Judy) is a Sydney based artist who was born in Korea and grew up in both Korea and Australia. She recently graduated from Sydney College of the Arts, the University of Sydney majoring in Painting.
In her works she tend to paint scattered thoughts or momentary experiences that comes and goes. It reflects her part of being in time, relationships with the everyday in this increasingly changing and globalised world. Often collage and mix up images to makes them appear somewhat abstract or surreal, she questions the reality and originality in our contemporary culture. Within the increase of digital culture, we continuously experience elements of chaos, accident and disorder just like the disjointed images. This evokes sense of alienation and persistent fear of insecurity in our living.
